One of my first jobs as a copywriter was creating social content for ampm’s oft-maligned snack monster, Toomgis. A discerning eye might clock that his name is inspired by the brand’s tagline “Too Much Good Stuff”. Though the brand sunk a lot of money into this mascot–his costume was designed by the Jim Henson company and it required two SAG actors to embody for live action commercials–Toomgis rubbed many the wrong way.
I wrote a half-hour comedy inspired by my time spent with Toomgis.
